Elementary and Jr. High Courses:

Drawing Basics:  Featuring renowned artist Thomas Kinkade, This 5 unit elective covers key elements of art, principles of design, and facts about art history. Students will learn how to draw the world around them. Appropriate for grades 3-8th. 5 credits $75.00.

 

Health Quest:  This health course will help student gain awareness of health as it applies personally to their own bodies, minds, and emotions, as well as their living environment.  Appropriate for grades 4th – 6th. 5 credits, $ 75.00.

 

Elementary Spanish:  Students learn Spanish by hearing conversations, speaking, and writing. This program includes resources; memory aids songs, games, puzzles, exercises, and culture insights. The CD-ROMs include audio recordings by Spanish speakers. Appropriate for grades K-6th. $ 125.00.

 

Science Kits:  Finding everything you need for the labs in your science curriculum can consume a great deal of time- valuable time that could be spent teaching, instead of searching.  To make it easier for you, we’ve already found everything you need to complete all of your experiments in one convenient package.  The upper grades include an instructional video to follow along with.  Not only will you save time, you will save money by purchasing this kit vs. buying items individually.

High School Courses:

Health:  This teaches health from a Christian perspective.  Good nutrition, healthy exercise, and personal hygiene are emphasized along with spiritual, emotional, and social well-being. Appropriate for grades 9th – 12th. 5 credits, $ 75.00

 

Foundation for Living:  Students learn that in order to have productive lives they should seek to glorify God.  Topics include man’s purpose in the world, the Christian family, dating and courtship, education, art and politics.  Appropriate for grades 9th -12th. 10 credits, $ 150.00

 

Home Economics:  The Christian home life, financial freedom and character qualities are emphasized in this extensive program along with practical skills such as cooking and sewing.  Appropriate for grades 9th – 12th. 10 credits, $150.00

 

Essential of Communication:  This class shows students how to successfully interact with others in personal, professional, and public settings.  Students learn about communication theories, characteristics of language, interpersonal relationships, group dynamics, and public speaking.  Appropriate for grades 9th-12th. 5 credits, $ 75.00.

 

Christian Charm Course:  This class teaches girls methods for improving their appearance and gives spiritual instruction on developing and inner beauty that comes from a heart surrendered to Christ.  Topics include diet, posture, hygiene, wardrobe, and etiquette.  Appropriate for grades 9th -12th. 5 credits, $ 75.00

 

Man in Demand:  A Christian character course designed to train boys to become dynamic Christian leaders in today’s world.  Topics include physical and spiritual fitness, habits, manners, hygiene, dating, grooming and attire.  Appropriate for grades 9th- 12th. 5 credits,

Photography:  This class will teach you to look at the beauty around you, to look at all of Gods great creations.  Students will use their own camera to take pictures, place them in a portfolio and write an essay about the detail of their camera.  Appropriate for grades 9th- 12th. 5 credits, $ 75.00

 

Drivers Ed:  Outside resource at Raasveld Driving School. This course includes 4 full Saturday’s of training to prepare you for written exam and certificate. There is also 3- 2 hour driving sessions scheduled with a certified driving instructor to prepare you for your behind the wheel certificate.  Student will receive full credit when they bring us a copy of their in class training and a copy of their permit. Must be 15 to take this class.  Appropriate for grades 9th – 12th. Behind the wheel: 5 credits. Written: 5 Credits.  Cost approximately $225.00. Contact Raasveld Driving School at 951-654-8498.

 

Art:  This basic art curriculum teaches principles of color, styles of art, perspective, portraiture, carving, and cartooning with a practical, hands-on format.  Precious art experience is not required.  Appropriate for grades 7th - 12th.  10 credits, $150.00

 

Spanish 1:  This course establishes appreciation of Spanish as well as basic confidence and skills in reading, writing, and speaking the Spanish language.  Students learn vocabulary and basic word order through typical Spanish conversations in various settings.  Appropriate for grades 9th- 12th.  10 credits, $150.00

 

Civics:  Civics is an analysis of government and politics.  It is a study of the necessity for establishing government and purposes that government is designed to fulfill. Appropriate for 9th- 12 grade. 5 credits, $75.00

 

Eye on History Series:  These books address specific historical topics written from fictitious eyewitness accounts.  Historical data, discussion questions, and student activity sheets are included.  There are a total of 6 books. Appropriate for grades

9th – 12th. Each book is worth 2.5 credits. $ 37.50 each book.

American Literature:  This one semester course introduces students to work by prominent American writers.  Periods covered include Early American Literature, The Romantic Period, War and Reconciliation, The Modern Age and the Modern to Post-modern Age. This is a great supplement to the Lifepac Language Arts. Appropriate for grades 9th – 12th. 5 credits, $75.00

 

British Literature:  This one semester course introduces students to British authors.  Periods covered include The Middle Ages, Reformation, and Renaissance, The Neoclassical and Romantic Periods, The Victorian Age, and The Modern Era.  This is also a great supplement to the Lifepac Language Arts. Appropriate for grades 9th – 12th. 5 credits, $75.00

 

LIFEPAC Computer Literacy:  This teaches the basics of ten computer software programs. These courses include a tutorial CD-ROM with step-by-step instructions, practical exercises, and helpful narration.  As students progress through the tutorial, the two LIFEPAC worktexts test their knowledge of the material.  Student can learn the following courses. Appropriate for grades 9th-12th. Each course worth 5 credits, $ 75.00 per course.  (If taking the entire computer course there will be a total of 50 elective credits)
